Rockin’ around the clock

Another shop hop has come and gone, but what fun we had at the 50’s Diner!!!!!  Four days of singing and dancing, what could be more exciting?

By the end of Shop Hop, Britnie had learned the Twist, the mashed potato, the wahtusi, and she could limbo like no other.  Thanks to all of the enthusiastic customer that taught Britnie her dance moves

Diner Girls Rule!!. Check out those saddle oxfords!!

We all chose Diner Girl names like Rita, Betty, Rhoda, Dottie, Alice, Flo, Susie, and of course, Peggy Sue.  She is on the left (Linda).  Notice the shoes and the name tags.

I went to bakery to order cookies, (in my get-up of course, complete with name tag) and the girl at the bakery wrote the order under the name Rhoda.  Ha Ha….  You know when you get those annoying calls and telemarketers ask for the person in charge of handling the phone service?  We can now tell them that they need to talk to Dottie, and she unfortunately is out of the office today.

So here it is!!  Our version of Around the Town.   I don’t think I ever have to paper piece again! (did I say that out loud).  The girls helped with the blocks, and I put it all together.  Jan bound the quilt on Tuesday night, just in the nick of time.  She’s a life saver!!!!!

See you next year, where we are really going to “Celebrate”.  I hope everyone had as much fun as we did!  If you didn’t, you can call and talk to Alice, she has just been promoted to the complaint department.

I’m Baaaaaack !!!!

I’m back from Pittsburgh Quilt Market, and boy did I bring home a lot of fabric!!  100 pounds of it according to the scale at the airport!  The market was smaller than usual, but just as exciting!  I was one of the first in line at sample spree (for those of you who don’t know what sample spree is, it is pure mayhem, with about 1,000 women fighting over fat quarter bundles at the Moda Booth) I waited in line for three hours (yes, I’m nuts) and I made a mad dash to the Moda Booth to snatch-up all the newest fabrics!

We’ve got so many new patterns and books ordered that every day is like Christmas.  You will have to come by the shop to see whats new!

here is a sneak peek of what went on at Market

Moda really knows how to throw a party!  They rented 2 riverboats that were filled to capacity.  We cruised up and down the Alegheny/Ohio Rivers and really saw the beauty of Pittsburgh

To Market, To Market!!

I’m packing my bags and heading to Quilt Market in Pittsburgh on the 13th in search of the latest and greatest in the Quilting world; and honestly, I’m halfway there already.  I’m calling this my semi-annual vacation, but for shop owners everywhere, you understand this completely!   Four days of complete sensory overload and exhaustion – sounds like a great vacation to me!!   A trip to Amish Country and the Hershey factory would definitely make this trip complete!

I will keep you updated on the latest trends, the newest fabrics, gadgets,  books & patterns, and all things new and exciting.   I just might bring back a treat for one lucky person!!  Check back for more information, and to see just what I’ve been up to!
